Dr. Asher Rabinowitz

Dr. Asher Rabinowitz

I enjoy interacting with my patients and helping them solve their dermatological problems. I have a great sense of satisfaction in seeing multiple generations of families return to me for their dermatological care. I love being part of the family in this way.

Dr. Asher Rabinowitz is a board certified dermatologist. He received his bachelor-of-arts degree from Yeshiva University and his M.D. from George Washington University. Following an internship at Maimonides Medical Center, he did his residency at the New York Medical College/ Metropolitan Hospital Center. While there, Dr. Rabinowitz received the New York Academy of Medicine Annual Residents Forum Award. Dr. Rabinowitz did a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He then remained in Cleveland for four more years directing the dermatopathology laboratory at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve, as well as seeing private patients.

For the last thirty years, Dr. Rabinowitz has been an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he made major contributions to the teaching program and to the dermatopathology service. For twenty-four of those years he also had a part-time practice in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Dr. Rabinowitz has recently retired from Columbia and immensely enjoys once again seeing patients in a private practice clinical setting.
